Hosted by US Solar on October 1, 2025, the event drew participants from across the state, highlighting strong public interest in renewable energy and its role in strengthening Minnesota’s economy.
“Community solar is one of the most practical ways we can ensure every Minnesotan benefits from the local production of affordable, clean power,” said Reed Richerson, President of US Solar. “This event shows that solar can be more than just energy generation—it’s a way to strengthen communities, keep generational farms thriving, and expand access to the benefits of clean energy for all Minnesotans.”

The event underscored Minnesota’s potential to lead both in connecting income-qualified households with electric savings and pairing agriculture and clean energy. By partnering with nonprofits and community organizations, US Solar is able to subscribe income-qualified households to their Community Solar Gardens, offering savings of $250/year on average. And by integrating solar arrays with working farmland, community solar offers a path to lower energy costs, stronger rural economies, and more resilient communities.
