US Solar Hosts Pollinator Community Celebration

8/21/2019

The CW Twin Cities captures US Solar's Pollinator Community Celebration - an event where community members toured a US Solar pollinator-friendly Solar Garden and learned about native pollinators and honey-producing apiaries located onsite.
The Mayor of Big Lake, a Sherburne County Commissioner, and over 50 local residents joined US Solar at their pollinator celebration in Big Lake, MN. At the pollinator celebration, attendees took a tour of the one-megawatt (MW) Solar Garden and learned about the value of pollinator-friendly habitat from Colleen Hollinger of Natural Resource Services. Attendees also sampled Bare Honey’s local honey produced at apiaries located on Solar Gardens with pollinator-friendly habitat. Finally, attendees learned more about the profound impact of many types of native bees from the 16-year-old Founder of Bee Kind MN, Nikolas Liepins.
