Director, Energy Storage

Employer Description:
US Solar is a developer, owner, operator, and financier of solar projects with a focus on emerging state markets and community solar programs nationwide. ​

Position Description: 
The Director, Energy Storage will lead the strategy and execution of US Solar’s storage business development across a variety of market opportunities.  This position will lead the origination of solar + storage opportunities, execute on business development strategy, and evaluate product and service providers.  This work will be supported by project development and operations resources.

Key Responsibilities:​
  • Develop business strategy for incorporating storage into new and existing project opportunities
  • Execute on the strategy by securing and executing PPA / off-take agreements
  • Lead the product and service evaluation of storage suppliers
  • Collaborate with project development and operations colleagues to implement projects
  • Assist the team in preparation of contracts required for completing development of solar projects
  • Prepare and deliver applications, proposals, presentations, etc. to external stakeholders like local government units and electrical utilities
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet project development schedules and budgets and successfully reach construction

Core Proficiencies:
  • Modeling storage benefits for potential customer / counterparties
  • Developing product offering and delivering proposals which clearly demonstrate value proposition
  • Ability to execute new project or product opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to exceed expectations 
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization
  • Completes work in a timely and professional manner
  • Effective working individually as well as with a team
  • Able to react quickly and problem-solve in quickly-changing environment
  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in the full lifecycle of solar + storage or stand-alone storage projects
  • Proficiency with energy and financial modeling 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in a similar role or utilizing a similar Core Proficiencies; storage experience and knowledge required
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and passion for the solar marketplace, technology, and industry
